LaPorte man found guilty of multiple drug-related counts

A LaPorte man has ben sentenced in U.S. District Court after being found guilty by a jury in October 2022 of multiple drug-related counts, including heroin distribution and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Bridges was sentenced to 210 months in prison followed by 6 years of supervised release. According to court documents, in the fall of 2019, 19-year-old Donta Bridges was selling various substances to include heroin, fentanyl, meth, and the horse tranquilizer xylazine.
During one sale, Bridges told a customer to be careful with the drugs because he knew that someone had overdosed on the stuff  he was selling.
During the execution of a search warrant at his house, investigators recovered a gun along with heroin, cocaine, and meth.
Bridges was sentenced on the instant offense as a career offender based on his two prior felony drug convictions.
