Three teenagers were arrested in Goshen after a traffic stop resulted in police confiscating a gun.
The stop happened in the 400 block of North Main Street, just after 6 a.m. on Monday, July 3, after what they call criminal recklessness stemming from an overnight incident involving firearm.
During the investigation, the driver, Cameron Dupuy, 19, of Kendallville, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, reckless driving and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Erik Pina, 18, of Ligonier, was arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Another passenger, a 17-year-old juvenile of Ligonier, was arrested after being found to be in possession of a handgun.
Cameron and Erik were taken at the Elkhart County Jail. The juvenile was taken to the Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center.

The punk kids from Ligonier and Kendallville come to the big city of Goshen to become gangsters for the day. Let’s hope the Elkhart County court system teaches them a lesson not to be young and stupid. Thank goodness no one got hurt or killed.
