Before Indiana’s ban on abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy was passed by state lawmakers and then put back in effect by and Indiana Supreme Court ruling, abortion providers in Indiana had performed more abortions throughout the state than in 2022.

That’s according to a new report from the Indiana Department of Health. According to the numbers, abortion providers performed more than 9,500 abortions last year, which is a 13-percent increase from 2021.

Nearly half of those abortions were performed at Planned Parenthood locations.
