Four people injured in Michigan City shooting

Four people were injured in a shooting earlier this week and now, The Michigan City Police Department is investigating.

It happened Monday, July 3, just after 7:50 p.m., when dispatch received several calls regarding shots fired and multiple injuries in the 1100 block of Salem Street.

Another call was made from the 600 Block of White Oak Drive in regards to a shooting victim.

Gunshot victims were also at the Franciscan Health Michigan City Hospital. They were ages 19, 22, 23, and 25. Officers say that the victims had been at the gathering on Salem Street.

Three of the victims were flown to the University of Chicago for more treatment.

Police say that they have interviewed multiple witnesses, but have not suspects at this time. They say that there is no threat to the public.
