Legal case continues for woman who allegedly robbed Elkhart 7-Eleven

The legal case continues for a woman who allegedly robbed an Elkhart 7-Eleven.

Siarra Pontius, 20, allegedly went to the 7-Eleven at 2805 Toledo Road on June 2, around midnight, with a knife.

Reports say that she walked behind the counter, took around $300 to $500 cash from the register, and ran into the woods.

The cashier told police that Pontius was known for shoplifting from the store. They believed she lived at the 20 East Apartments, 2125 Toledo Road, Elkhart.

Pontius was found at her apartment complex, at around 2:24 a.m., where police found $107 in cash and $50 in a mattress. Pontius was also identified by the business owner from a surveillance photo.

A trial status conference is scheduled for Jan. 25. A jury trial is set for Feb. 19.
