Elkhart fire crews battle house fire on Columbian Avenue

An investigation is underway after a house caught fire in Elkhart.

City fire crews were called just before 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, to the home in the 1200 block of Columbian Avenue.

Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy fire coming from the structure.

Several hose lines were put in place and the fire was brought under control.

There were no injuries reported. No occupants or pets were inside the home when the blaze broke out.
