Teenager charged with murder for July shooting in South Bend

The prosecutor’s office has charged 16 year-old Edwin Torres-Becerril with the murder of 16 year-old Luis Hernandez-Acosta in South Bend.

Torres-Becerril is facing multiple felony counts, including murder, conspiracy to commit murder and firearm Enhancement.

According to an affidavit, Luis had ongoing issues with Torres before the fatal shooting on July 10th on South Carlisle Street.

Witnesses stated that they saw two unknown males wearing all black shoot Luis in the alley walking southbound from Huron Street.

What kind of parents allows a 16 year old boy to have a firearm in the first place ? His parents should be prosecuted for the delinquency of a minor.
