Elkhart Police have now identified the teenager who was found dead in a house fire Tuesday morning.

The victim has been identified as 18 year-old Christyan Roberto Cortez of Elkhart, and his death remains under investigation by the Elkhart County Homicide Unit.

Cortez was found along with a dog on in the house fire on Myrtle Street. They were discovered on the first floor of the front apartment of the home.
