Police investigating after man was shot on West Marion Street in Elkhart

The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a non-fatal shooting that occurred in the 500 block of W. Marion Street in Elkhart.

It was just after 12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, when Elkhart City 911 Communications received a call in reference to a shooting with injuries in the 500 block of W. Marion St.

Elkhart Police Department officers and Elkhart Fire Department medics dispatched and arrived shortly thereafter. Upon arrival, first responders rendered aid to a 42-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wound(s).

He was taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
