A LaPorte County inmate who died at the end of July suffered a fatal overdose.

42-year-old Johnathon Tripp was arrested on July 22 for a traffic violation.

Police say he showed signs of overdose hours after being booked into the LaPorte Couripp was taken to the hospital, where he died. He reportedly ingested drugs during the traffic stop without the officers noticing.
