A two-year-old child died after being hit by a trailer in Cass County.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 1, in the 13000 block of Carter Lake Road, according to Michigan State Police.

ABC 57 News reports that it’s believed the two-year-old wandered in between a truck and the trailer just before a family member moved them.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
