A Virginia man who was in a vehicle involved in a crash in Elkhart County was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The man was a passenger in the car.  The driver of the vehicle took off from the scene. The collision happened just before 10 p.m. on Monday, Sep. 11, in the area of County Road 19 and State Line Road.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of the Honda Accord was traveling northbound, then drove off the road and struck a tree.

The driver was gone by before officers arrived.
