A former Marion County sheriff’s deputy is facing felony charges for several counts of child exploitation and possessing child pornography, says the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office says.
A probable cause affidavit says police started investigating 27-year-old Justin Dillehay in late August after IMPD got a tip from the National center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The tip included a Yahoo account being used to upload child pornography in May. Investigators wound up finding two different Yahoo accounts that were traced back to Dillehay. The two accounts were used to email sexually explicit content of children to each other.
Police executed a search warrant on Dillehay’s apartment in Beech Grove on August 21st. He admitted that both Yahoo accounts were his, but asked for a lawyer when police asked if he sent the emails containing child porn.
Detectives found more than 10 pictures of child porn on his personal phone during the investigation.
He goes to trial November 15th.
