The Elkhart Police are investigating a shooting death on South 5th Street early Thursday morning.

The report came to them just before 3:30 a.m. in the 500 block when residents said they had heard shots being fired. Police arrived at the scene and found a man dead inside a home.

No other details have been released as of Tuesday afternoon.
