Two young children injured in crash after driver reportedly falls asleep

A 1 year-old boy and a 2-year-old boy were injured in a crash when the person driving the SUV fell asleep at the wheel. That’s the word from Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators.
The crash happened around 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, on County Road 32, west of County Road 43, when the 22-year-old woman driving the SUV dozed off, then drove off the road, hit a tree stump and overturned.
The two babies were taken to the hospital with body pain and minor cuts.
Both children were restrained when the crash happened.
