Two people hurt in house fire on Chicago Street in South Bend

Two people were hurt in a house fire in South Bend.

Fire crews were called around 3 o’clock, Friday morning, to the single-story home in the 200 block of South Chicago Street.

While they were able to bring the fire under control, quickly, one man was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment and another was treated on scene.

There were no reports of any injuries to firefighters.

The origin and cause are currently under investigation.
