The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office is scheduled for a law enforcement assessment as part of a program to get re-accreditation by verifying the agency is maintaining professional standards.
Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policies and procedures, administration, operation, and support services.
As part of the assessment, members of the community are invited to offer comments, which you can do on the sheriff’s department website, or by visiting the “Accreditation Comment Portal”
