Mishawaka man, 20, killed in crash on Lincolnway in Osceola

A Mishawaka man was killed after a crash on Lincolnway East in Osceola.

The collision happened around 7:50 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, and involved a passenger vehicle and a pickup truck.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, Ilgin Kayra Gultekin, 20, of Mishawaka, was traveling eastbound near Boles Street, when police say he attempted to pass a pickup truck, driven by a 17-year-old Mishawaka girl, who was also traveling eastbound.

Gultiken was critically injured in the crash and was taken to the hospital where he died due to his injuries.

The Mishawaka teenager was uninjured and is cooperating with the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by the St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team.
