NIPSCO requests to increase natural gas base rates

NIPSCO has submitted a request to increase its natural gas base rates.
The utility says it’s made the request to comply with federal safety and compliance regulations, help with system upgrades, and infrastructure modernization.
The proposed increase will undergo a review process that includes public comment.
If approved, an average natural gas residential customer would see their bill go up about $8 per month. The rates would be phased in over two years.
This comes just two months after a separate approved hike that’s expected to increase average customers’ bills by at least $12 by 2024.

They have to pay for all the green energy somehow. The federal grants only cover installation not operations. You will pay for being “green” with your taxes then you’ll continue to pay for it as it costs more and is inefficient and not really good for the environment.
