A new survey is looking at the holiday shopping trends in the US, and finding more than half of shoppers are feeling a big money pinch this year.

A new survey by Bankrite says half of us started out shopping before Halloween, and 54% of us are reporting feeling financially burdened this holiday season.

53% say they’ll do the bulk of their shopping with credit cards, with 64% saying they will pay off those charges before interest accrues.

The study also says 39% of holiday shoppers will do the bulk of their shopping online, which is good news for local stores — but 42% expect to buy fewer gifts this year.
