1-year-old child in critical condition after being pulled from Tippecanoe River

A 1-year-old child was hospitalized in critical condition after being pulled from the Tippecanoe River along with a 5-year-old on Saturday according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Around 10:50 a.m. a 911 caller reported to Pulaski County Dispatch that the two children were struggling in the river behind a home on Stamper Drive.

Police would later learn that the children got in the river after playing outside.

The two children and two adult family members were taken to Pulaski Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The 1-year-old was later taken to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
