A 24-year-old South Bend man died after being shot.

South Bend Police were called around 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, to the area of Marion and Taylor Streets on the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Matthew Wiley of South Bend.

His autopsy is set for today in Kalamazoo.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation by The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit.
