The grassroots Parent Coalition, which formed after the death of 13-year-old Rio Allred, who took her own life after being bullied by classmates, is continuing their efforts by advocating for additional child safety legislation.
The organization is hosting two online community meetings. The first is Tuesday night. The other is set for Thursday, December 14th.
Both meetings are from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. and both are open to the public.
Back in the spring, group leaders testified at the Indiana Senate Education Committee and advocated to pass Anti-Bullying House Bill 14-83, compelling schools to document instances of bullying and abusive behavior against the victim.
The bill became law in July.
