After a two-day trial in LaPorte Circuit Court, a former school employee was found not guilty of felony child seduction.

For over two decades, Lorenzo Medrano was the coach of the LaPorte High School Color Guard and Winter Guard performance teams.

During the 2019/2020 school year, he was accused of inappropriately touching a student, and charges were filed against him in September of 2021.

After the two-day trial last week, the jury deliberated for less than 10 minutes before returning with the Not Guilty verdict. However, despite the verdict, Medrano says he will likely never coach again.

Ten minutes to find him not guilty? Who brought these bogus charges? They should be fired and he should get a big pay day for being falsely accused.
