Suspect who allegedly stole Mishawaka police car released on bond

Just three days following the theft of a Mishawaka squad car from a Menards parking lot, the suspect, has been released on bond.

Michael Eppenbaugh, 42, gained control of the police car during an altercation with a Mishawaka officer.

Public records reveal that Eppenbaugh has been arrested 12 times, with four of those instances carrying pending charges. Among the 12 arrests are recurrent offenses such as theft, resisting arrest, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Additionally, Eppenbaugh has multiple warrants issued in Kosciusko County.

The incident originated when Eppenbaugh was accused of shoplifting at the Mishawaka Menards, resulting in a confrontation with a Mishawaka officer.
