Duke QB Riley Leonard commits to Notre Dame

He faced The Fighting Irish in Week 5 of his season at Duke, and now quarterback Riley Leonard has announced his commitment to Notre Dame.

The 6-foot-4, 212-pound QB is described as a dual-threat with fast feet and a great arm, and was widely regarded as one of the more talented quarterbacks in the transfer portal. Leonard took to X Tuesday morning and called the move to Notre Dame “a dream come true,” one day after a video from Irish QB Sam Hartman said goodbye to his own football career.

Blue And Gold, however, notes that taking a strong QB from the transfer portal didn’t have the hoped for result with Hartman, and called this season “a cautionary tale” to temper expectations for Leonard.
