It’s 42 years in prison for a LaPorte County woman who pleaded guilty in the neglect-related death of her son.

Mary Yoder learned her fate on Friday, Jan. 5.

The child suffered torture and fatal beatings at the hands of his father, Alan Morgan, who is presently serving a 70-year prison term. Yoder, despite being aware of the abuse, did not intervene to protect her son.

Court documents revealed that Morgan entered his guilty plea “at the 11th hour” upon realizing the lack of chances to succeed in the case. Initially fleeing from the crime scene, Morgan led police on a 119 mph pursuit before being apprehended by sheriff’s deputies in Knox.

Police say the home where the abuse occurred was filthy.

4-year-old Judah Morgan was found dead in the home in a dark cellar bound in duct tape.
