Suspect arrested after double shooting at Kelly’s Pub in South Bend

A suspect has been arrested following a shooting that wounded two people at Kelly’s Pub in South Bend.

It was around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, when South Bend Police were called to the bar in the 1100 block of East Mishawaka Avenue and found two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. They were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Through the investigation and the processing of evidence, a suspect was arrested early Thursday morning following a traffic stop.

The shooting stemmed from an argument.

The suspect, 30-year-old Armond Davis, of South Bend is charged with multiple counts of battery, criminal recklessness, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon of criminal recklessness.

One of the victims was shot in the leg. The other was shot in the neck.

If serious violent felons were required to remain in jail for the full duration of their sentences there would be a lot less crime. For the firearms violations alone he could probably be sentenced to 20 years if the prosecutor would refuse to plea bargain.
