A Redevelopment Commission meeting this past Thursday paused the next step towards establishing a homeless intake center in South Bend.
The commission was supposed to vote on purchasing an unused plot of land from South Bend Community School Corporation.
The leaders from Motels4Now and Our Lady of the Road hoped to use the five acres of land off Bendix Drive for the ‘New Day Intake Center.’
The commission decided to table the issue.
