Portage Township officials report evidence of code violations at Cedar Glen Apartments

The Cedar Glen Apartment complex is under fire for poor living conditions and now, the Portage Township Trustee’s Office says there’s enough evidence of multiple Indiana civil code violations.
Now, the Township Legal Counsel has issued a Resolution Letter to the property owners.
They are asking for multiple conditions to be met, including restitution to affected residents, restitution to Portage Township for Township Assistance payments, allowing a local tenant’s association to form, and agreeing to three years of compliance reporting.
Portage Township Trustee Jason Critchlow says the requirements need to be met and it’s about being right and fair.
