Boy, 16, injured after crashing into trees in Marcellus Township

A 16-year-old boy was taken to the hospital by relatives after a crash in Marcellus Township.

The collision happened around 9:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, near the intersection of Miller Road and Cranberry Street.

Deputies arrived on the scene and found a pickup truck that had crashed into some trees. The truck was unoccupied.

The Cass County Sheriff’s investigation revealed that the teen had driven the vehicle failed to maintain control at the intersection and crashed into the trees.

He was taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo by family.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor, according to the sheriff’s office.
