The South Bend Redevelopment Commission has voted to buy the River Glen Office Complex downtown.

The plaza is next to the Karl King Tower and stretched to Jefferson Blvd.

The Commission unanimously voted on Thursday to buy the plaza for $3.25 million in order to turn it into a residential area while also making it easier to navigate downtown.

According to ABC 57 News, city officials say even though the plaza was for offices, because it is zoned for downtown it will not need to be re-zoned for residential use.
