Goshen Community School Board fills vacant seat after revote

There was a surprising turn of events at Monday’s Goshen School Board meeting.
Initially slated for the newest member, Alexa Ponce, the seat will now be filled by Keith Goodman.
This decision followed a unanimous vote by board members, filling the vacancy left by Alan Kauffman’s resignation.
Despite an initial 3-to-2 vote in favor on Saturday, Indiana law requires four votes for confirmation.
Recognizing Ponce wouldn’t garner enough support, the board chose Goodman, instead.
