Angelica Ortiz, 37, and Kyle Kirkland, worked together throughout the fall of 2022 to sell meth in Michigan City. Kirkland was the first to go down, as he was charged, convicted, and eventually sentenced in October, 2023 to just over eleven years in federal prison.

Kirkland will have three years of probation after he serves his prison time.

Angelica Ortiz was sentenced this week to 12 years in federal prison with three years of probation after that.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Drug Enforcement Administration, with assistance from the LaPorte County Drug Task Force.
