A Portage woman was arrested for apparent OWI after police saw her disregard two “Road Closed” signs and drive into a site closed for road construction.

It happened this past weekned in the area of U.S. 6 and State Road 421.

Nicole Tarnow, 30, was taken to the LaPorte County Jail on three counts of OWI.

Deputies have been patrolling that area due to the construction project and say the arrest  highlights the focus and attention being given to that area during all times of the day.
