Three people from Mexico killed in crash on State Road 15 south of New Paris

Three people from Mexico were killed in a crash on State Road 15, near County Road 146, south of New Paris.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, when Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators say the vehicle they were in abruptly turned left, crossing the centerline into the oncoming lane, and was struck by a semi.

Two of the occupants in the vehicle that was struck were ejected. The third person was trapped in the vehicle. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi driver was not hurt.

The driver of a third vehicle that was struck by debris was also unharmed.
