Two Elkhart men, Eduardo Alvarado and Ernesto Arellano, have been sentenced for their involvement in a deadly shooting in South Bend in May of last year.

Bruno Sanagustin, 29, was shot and killed during an altercation with the suspects outside of the El Tecate restaurant on South Carlisle Street.

Video surveillance recovered from the area shows Eduardo Alvarado shooting the victim at close range, then taking off in a white Dodge Charger.

Alvarado pleaded guilty to one charge of murder and was sentenced to 45 years in prison, with a 364-day reduction for time already served.

The second suspect, Ernesto Arellano, accepted a plea deal; his charge of Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury was dismissed. He was sentenced to three years for assisting a criminal who committed the murder.
