Agriculture specialists in Michigan are concerned that the peach, cherry and grape crops in the southwest part of the state will fall short due to the winter weather.

A viticulture specialist with MSU tells WSJM that the combination of warm temperatures and hard freezes impacted many of the crops. That’s especially true the further south you go, which has impacted the wine grape crop as much as 50 to 80%, and the peach crop as much as 90%.

Crops that aren’t showing signs of problems include apples, plums, pears and blueberries.
