Bertrand Township grants tax exemption to manufacturer

(953 MNC)

Bertrand Township has granted a tax break to C&S Machine, which is planning an expansion.

The township, just north of the state line and south of Buchanan and western Niles, gave a greenlight to the manufacturer, which makes ultra-precision components for aerospace and other industries. WSJM reports that C&S is investing $3.6 million for the restoration and renovation of its 10,000 square foot facility, and investing in new equipment.

The tax exemption will be on new equipment and improvements for 12 years.
