A woman who LaPorte County Police say stole a cellphone from inside the public video visitation room of the LaPorte County Jail has been arrested.

LaPorte County Sheriff’s deputies posted a photo, last month, of the woman in hopes getting tips about her whereabouts.

The very next day day, the stolen iPhone was dropped off at the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office. Also that day, agency personnel began to receive tips identifying the female as 59-year-old Kristi Hahn.

An arrest warrant for Hahn was issued on Monday, July 1, and then, on Tuesday, officers located and arrested Hahn at her home in the 800 block of Ridge Street in LaPorte.

She was taken to the LaPorte County Jail and was held on $605 bond.
