Mismatched license plate leads to police chase in Mishawaka

A license plate that didn’t match the vehicle it was on resulted in a pursuit in Mishawaka.

The chase began around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, near Grape Road and White Oak Drive. The stop was because the license plate did not match the vehicle.

The pursuit ended when the female driver left the roadway and struck a tree on Day Road, east of the CN Railroad tracks.

The female was unresponsive and was removed from the vehicle, as it started to catch fire.

Officers performed CPR until medics arrived and took over. She was taken to the hospital.
