One-year-old dies after being run over by forklift

A 1-year-old child died on Wednesday after being accidentally run over by a forklift in Nappanee.
Kevin Borkholder, 34, was operating the forklift around 1 p.m. on N. 1025 W. According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Borkholder didn’t realize the toddler was behind the machine and ran over the child while reversing.
Despite the efforts of medics, the Kosciusko County Coroner pronounced the child dead at the scene. The child’s name has not been released.
