$1 million awarded for program focused on boosting urban tree coverage

Several cities have received $1 million for a program focused on training young people and boosting urban tree coverage to 45%.
The initiative will employ high school students from underserved communities to plant and maintain trees. Local partners support this effort, including Bushelcraft Farm and The Crossing School.
Elkhart and South Bend also received funding and are developing programs suited to their needs.
