Lake Michigan College has been recognized for its voter engagement initiatives.

LMC was awarded the Gold Campus Award for Excellence in Student Voter Engagement, in recognition for the work they did ahead of the 2022 midterm elections. LMC’s Tiffany Bohm told WSJM that the school has worked for years to get students involved in the political process, while at the same time remaining non-partisan.

The LMC voting rate increased by more than 6 percent in 2022 compared to 2018.
