Jury trial continued for man accused of gas station robbery

A man accused of robbing a gas station had his jury trial continued last week.

Gerson Portillo Valencia is accused of holding up a Rebel gas station in Elkhart in February.

According to The Goshen News, the man purchased a few items but told the cashier to give him all the money and threatened her with a gun. Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle at a residence, and Portillo Valencia was found inside the home.

He allegedly admitted the robbery to police. His jury trial was continued from November 4 to March 17.
