The South Bend Police Department reported a decrease in gun-related crimes throughout the city during their third-quarter crime statistics meeting.
Captain Jason Biggs stated, “Crime has been down since last quarter. We work hard to process anything that comes through, hold those responsible, and work with our offices. We are watching the trend, and right now, it’s trending down.”
While the number of shooting victims this year is similar to last year, there has been a 47.5% decrease compared to 2022.
