(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

A Georgia man driving a semi was killed in a crash on westbound Indiana Toll Road in Steuben County.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11.

Police say traffic stalled because of a car fire, but the semi-driver failed to slow down or stop. He swerved to avoid a crash, which led him to side-swipe a pickup truck and rear-end another semi.

The semi-driver and his passenger were extricated from the rig.

The driver, Melvin Alexander, 34, of Atlanta, GA died. His passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
