Goshen Police arrest South Bend man after high-speed chase

In the early hours of Sunday morning, Nov. 3, Goshen police arrested a South Bend man after a vehicle pursuit through the city that ended in a foot chase. Officers reported attempting to stop a car for multiple traffic violations near the intersection of Main Street and West Pike Street at around 12:33 a.m.
The driver, identified as 21-year-old Bryan Fuentes of South Bend, allegedly fled the scene in his vehicle before abandoning it and attempting to escape on foot.
Fuentes was apprehended shortly after and was taken into custody on charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, resisting law enforcement resulting in bodily injury, and operating while intoxicated. Police confirmed that Fuentes provided a breath sample registering a blood alcohol content of .163, more than double the legal limit.
Following the arrest, Fuentes was booked into the Elkhart County Jail. No injuries were reported.
