At the South Bend School Board’s first meeting of 2025, Jeannette McCullough became president and introduced five new agenda items.
The board approved a temporary freeze on the facilities master plan despite concerns about ongoing projects. Other decisions included hiring a new attorney, reinstating former Edison principal Jesus Pedraza, and considering cursive writing for the curriculum.
The proposal to freeze hiring new administrative staff was tabled.
Board members called for better communication between the superintendent and the board.
