St. Joseph County Sheriff William Redman filed a motion, this week, to dismiss a lawsuit from Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita, who accused the county of not cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Rokita filed the lawsuit in January, alleging that the county’s police department fails to notify ICE about the release of undocumented immigrants and does not honor ICE detainers.

The department denies the claims, stating they regularly communicate with immigration officials.
